An Australian Yacata Community meeting is going to be held  on the 18//04/2015.The home of one of the seven wonders of the world,The Great Barrier Reef city of Townsville Queensland will host the meeting.time and place will be emailed to you and posted on our Facebook page.

We  will be hearing messages from one of the Top Marine Biologist in the world and our legal representatives in Australia before the General meeting in Suva.,communities in New Zealand,United States,United Kingdom ,Germany,France and Switzerland are also welcome in on Skype.

Yacata Development strategy

It is an honour and blessing to be given the opportunity to review the Yacata Development and Strategic Plan. A lot of hours and hard work was put in the making of the first plan. All community development areas such as education, economic development, culture, resources from land and sea, culture and spirituality were practically assessed and transformed. 

We have achieved our goals in discussing each of the areas in our first plan and we will try to propose in our proposal of how we can change, improve or make it better, our strategic plan as we seek to develop village holistic life.

We conclude that we must have funds as seed money to propose changes in our village way of life. A new mindset must be established to renew the ways we have been doing things in our community or village. The question of justice was asked of how can the hotel management  pay compensation to the traditional owners of the use of Qoliqoli and land at Yacata.

The development and strategic plan will uncover values and potential yet to be uncovered and seen. Various areas of community development need improvement, so a new approach needs discovering to refine and implement changes to some sections of village life at Yacata.

Areas such as health, tourism, water, airstrip, joint ventures, sea and land resources, law and order, spirituality and infrastructure. Part of the invested compensation funds, and its interest will be utilised as seed money to enable strategic community development.We will stand with people and their vision to see changes and good health today and for future generations.As our legal representatives in Australia is engaged to look after our resources it does not stop us from pursuing our own crowd fundraising to fund our Yacata Strategic developement Plan.

THE MIDDLE ISLAND(NUKULUVE)

Nukuluve Island located between Yacata and Kaibu and and is part of the Yacata group of Islands inside the one lagoon.As kids growing up in Yacata we were always full of curiosity and our old people knows at least where ancestors came from,we were told that they flew in from the sky  and settled on Yacata thousands of years ago.(ie another story for the next chapter)

Even though there is only 150+ of us living on the Islands there are thousands sons and daughters of Yacata scattered randomly  all over the world and still so dear to us our little pearl located on the  heart of the blue Pacific,thanks to Facebook,Twitter and Google+  as we are now all connected.

The following reoprts have been coming out of Fiji:
Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise is in the South Pacific Island of Fiji onbard his luxury superyacht.
Tom Cruise’s yacht Suri was seen at Port Denarau, Fiji, last week. This week yacht Suri has been berthed at the Tradewinds Hotel bay in Lami, also in the beautiful pacific island.
It has been rumored that Cruise is in Fiji to purchase an island in the Yasawas. The only island that’s up for sale in the area is Vatuvara.
Cruise is a famous actor and a producer whose lovely wife, actress Katie Holmes, recently gave birth to a daughter. The couple’s daughter shares the name Suri.
The superyacht is reportedly named after Cruise’s daughter with actress Katie Holmes.
Although he has not been spotted in the vicinity of the superyacht, there are reports he plans to buy an island in the Yasawa Group.
The superyacht Suri was reportedly in the Western Division last week.
- Does Mr. Crusie own yacht SURI?
It is understood that yacht SURI is merely the support boat for luxury yacht JEMASA, which is owned not by Cruise but by another wealthy Amercian.
